Walk in application process

• The Grade 12 results have now been released and you may consider applying to UKZN or to ass choices to your application.

• To do so you will have to visit either Howard College, Pietermaritzburg or Westville campuses from 6 January 2015.  For a limited period we will consider walk in applications and change of minds on campus only. 

• New applications or change of minds will only be considered where spaces are available and only if all entrance requirements have been met.

• Note that the number of applications  received by far exceeds the number of spaces available and applicants just meeting the minimum requirements may not be considered.  No places are guaranteed.  

• Note that Education and Health Science programmes have closed already and they will not allow late applications.

• International applications closed on 30 September and new applications will not be allowed in January.

• No new applications or change of minds will be accepted via the CAO in January.

• Once you have submitted a new or change of mind application you can check the outcome of your application on-line from home.

Change of Mind Information

Completing a “Change of Mind Request”

 What is a Change of Mind?

a)        Change of Mind is when you want to change your original study choice

b)       Change of Mind is when there is a Regret on your original choice by UKZN.

 Who can apply for Change of Mind at UKZN?

a)       First Time Undergraduate Applicants who have applied to UKZN through the CAO, and meet the Minimum admission criteria of the programmes offered at UKZN.

b)   Please take Note that there are no Change of Minds allowed for the following:

                      College of Health Sciences
                      LLB

Procedure:

a)       Download the Change of mind Form Here

b)      Fill in the Form and attach certified copies of ID and Matric Statement (All certified copies should not be more than 3 months old)

c)       Email form to relevant department.

d)      Maximum of 2 Change of Minds per applicant

e)       Closing date of Change: as and when the Programme gets full.

f)        List of available programmes: Please email relevant College

g)       Please Note: Payments will be required only after UKZN has accepted your application for the Change of Mind.

h)      Application Fee: R160
